Who are we

Thank you for using Dab Me Up (“we,” “our,” or “us”). Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using dabmeup.online or any related services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to the practices described below.

Dab Me Up is a lightweight web app that lets people invite friends to perform a virtual “dab-up” (a friendly high-five).

Information We Collect

Information you provide: Your name (and the name of the friend you invite) and email address (and the email address of friend you invite) so we can personalise invitations and send status emails when a dab-up is created or completed.

Automatically collected data: IP address, browser type, device details, referring URLs, date/time stamps and error logs for security, diagnostics and aggregate analytics.

Cookies & similar tech: Session cookies (necessary), preference cookies and advertising/analytics cookies from third parties (e.g., Google Ads) to keep you logged in, remember settings, display relevant ads and measure performance.

We do not collect sensitive categories of data and we never knowingly collect data from children under 13.

How We Use Your Information

We process personal data only when we have a lawful basis under the EU GDPR or similar laws. We use it to send invitations and updates (contractual necessity), display your name on the dab-up page (legitimate interest), show ads and measure ad performance (consent via cookie banner), prevent fraud and ensure security (legitimate interest), and meet legal obligations.

We never sell your personal information.

Advertising & Analytics

We partner with third-party ad networks such as Google AdSense. Within the EU/EEA we show non-personalised or contextual ads unless you opt into personalised ads. You can manage tracking via our Cookie Preferences panel or your browser settings. Third-party providers process data under their own privacy policies.

When We Share Information

We share data only with service providers (cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics), advertising partners, legal and safety authorities, or in a business transfer. All recipients must protect your data and cannot use it for their own purposes.

Your Rights

You can access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data; object to processing; and withdraw consent at any time by emailing privacy@dabmeup.online. You may also complain to your local Data Protection Authority (e.g., the Belgian DPA).

Data Retention

Account data is kept until you delete it or for up to 24 months after your last dab-up activity, whichever comes first. Logs and backups are retained for a maximum of 12 months unless needed for security or legal reasons. Advertising cookies expire no later than 13 months.

Security

We protect data with HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, database encryption at rest, least-privilege access controls and regular security audits. No system is 100 % secure, but we work hard to safeguard your information.

Children’s Privacy

Dab Me Up is not directed to children under 13. If we discover that we have collected data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. We will post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date Updates will be shown with a prominent notice if changes are material. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective signifies acceptance.
